Celebrating London Tree Week, we are off to Haiku Woods (formerly known as Highgate & Queen’s Woods), to step into a woodland wonderland. Walk with us composing haiku, through one of London’s best preserved woods and having fun capturing London’s heritage in just 3 lines and 17 syllables.

All London Tree Week
We'll be going nuts counting
haiku syllables

Haiku, the 3-line short form poem most associated with Japanese culture, are an amusing challenge to write and recite. Haiku can be read on two levels: literal and symbolic, so a simple description of a scene qualifies as much as a symbolic interpretation. Suitable for complete novices or expert poets, Haiku Woods walkshop will inspire you to compose and recite haiku.

Suitable for 16+ / Accompanied children 12+ - please indicate the number of 12+ children when booking.
Meet outside the Queen's Wood Community Cafe (just 5 minutes walk from Highgate tube). Numbers are limited, so it is essential that you book - turn up without booking and we will turn you away.

This free walkshop has been made possible through funding from the Mayor of London.
