Publicity material for this event says:

Finding the Words is a regular poetry evening every month at York Explore Library.
Each evening brings together three poets and we aim to include both published writers and those working towards a collection.

We'll have a bar available and readings last around an hour.
The evening is also a chance to share and chat, so please feel free to bring any news or information about poetry local, regional or national.

Sophie Kingsley is a 22 year old spoken word poet and film producer from York. She currently lives in Leeds where she runs a production company.

Andrew Lambeth is a typographer who began writing poetry in 2012, principally to provide himself with words with which to make experimental typographic artworks. Over time, this writing has settled into a more conventional poetry practice. Although not published outside anthologies and magazines, he has been longlisted for the National Poetry Competition on four occasions, for the Bridport twice, and has won a sprinkling of commendations and prizes in other competitions. He is co-editor, with the poet Ian Harker, of the new Strix poetry and short fiction magazine

In a former life as an engineer, Peter R White used to write precise specifications and contract documents. Since retiring he gained a BA in Literature with the OU, and was reborn as a writer of ambiguities and downright lies in the name of art. Peter is a member of York Poetry Workshop and a former Chair of Leeds Writers Circle. His poems have won prizes and have appeared in 8 anthologies to date. Many of his poems came into being during the process of recovering in a pub from the therapy of long walks in the Dales or in the countryside around his home on the outskirts of Leeds. He played a prominent role in the running of the popular Poetry by Heart readings in Headingley. The publication of his pamphlet, Ways to Wander (OWF Press, 2015) somehow led to his being seconded as Joint Managing Editor of OWF Press.
